Bestmile Appoints Marco Laumanns to Role of Chief Technology Officer

Bestmile has appointed Marco Laumanns, VP of Research to the position of Chief Technology Officer.

Since joining Bestmile in 2017, Marco has led the company’s research agenda including the development of proprietary ride matching and dispatching algorithms. This core technology enables the Bestmile Mobility Services Platform to plan, deploy, and optimize services that can be tailored to passenger and operator Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as ride times, vehicle utilization and fleet efficiency.

In his new role, Marco’s responsibilities will expand to include guiding the evolution of the Bestmile platform architecture, overseeing the development of the company’s intellectual property, and ensuring the technology and functionality needed to support growing customer demand and expanding use cases are always in place.

Marco holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology), where he specialized in operations research. Prior to joining Bestmile, he was project leader for Transportation and Operations Research at IBM Research.
